The 2026 State of the Union Address by President Trump in Washington, D.C., is coming hot on the heels of the coolest sport in the world, which hosted two American gold medal teams. The Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams both won Gold in the Winter Olympics, yet the men’s team and the government have had some dubious connections thus far.
From the FBI Director being heavily criticized for knocking back beers with the men, and Trump flaunting their gold medals for a photo. Ultimately, he made good on his mockery of the women’s team, as the men’s hockey team came out during the speech to a rousing round of applause, and the women’s team was nowhere to be found.
In an X post by HQNewsNow, a clip from the DC State of the Union Address shows the gold medal-winning U.S. Men’s Hockey Team being brought out to a rousing round of applause from Trump and all the Republicans in attendance. The crowd then started chanting USA, and as soon as this happened, a fierce round of harsh criticism began appearing online, while others cheered for Trump, celebrating the American victory.
