Stray Rescue of St. Louis in Missouri recently experienced a shocking event. A one-year-old stray dog was found and rescued by strangers, who then brought him to the facility. The poor dog was discovered with an arrow impaling his throat. Luckily, it didn’t kill him, and the vets quickly administered painkillers. Afterward, the staff performed an X-ray to determine whether the arrow had hit any vital structures. “We could clearly see that the arrow was going right through him. It is near his spine and esophagus,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote.
A Horrible Act

That wasn’t the only wound the Missouri dog suffered, though. The poor thing also had a bullet lodged in his abdomen. Based on these wounds, they concluded that this wasn’t an accident. “Someone was hunting this puppy. They wanted him dead,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis said.
The dog needed surgery to remove the arrow and bullet from his body. The rescue said that since the arrow had pierced the stray dog’s trachea, the surgery would not be easy. They called a skilled specialist to handle the procedure and transported the dog in a medical transport jeep.
To make the journey a bit more comfortable, the employees gave the stray dog some blankets and a pillow. They also named him Lucky Charm in the hope that he would recover from the gruesome wounds he had suffered. “We sent him with love and so many kisses. Saying goodbye to him was really hard, but it’s the only chance he has, and he deserves our EVERY effort,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis said.
Nobody knows the culprit behind this horrible crime. According to the Facebook post, the dog was found in East Prairie, Missouri. The rescuers hoped that anyone who might have a clue about the culprit would contact them via the email provided in the post.
Those who heard about Lucky Charm’s situation were shocked. It was truly a horrible act against a defenseless creature. “So many horrible humans out there. Thankfully, there are still great ones, like your rescue! Hopefully, the pup can be saved,” one Facebook user commented.
Another user theorized that the culprit might be a serial killer who was currently running loose in Missouri. “Only serial killers do this. The police there need to be asking questions and start hunting him/her,” the user claimed. However, there is no real evidence yet, and Stray Rescue of St. Louis has not uploaded any updates.
