Gaming can be a pretty expensive hobby, so it’s often nice to have the chance to try it before you buy. When physical media dominated the industry, publishers distributed demo disks containing free trials of their games. Now, in the era of digital gaming, it’s not uncommon to see a big, green “Demo” button on Steam; MMOs have been known to offer free trial periods to attract new players. Publisher Gamigo and developer Dynamight Studios are doing exactly that with their upcoming MMORPG Fractured Online. Today, they announced that the game will be free for one week, starting on May 25th.
Fractured Online’s Free Week Allows Players to Experience What MMORPG Has to Offer
Dynamight Studios and Gamigo call Fractured Online “the first truly dynamic, isometric open-world MMORPG.” According to the official FAQ, this means that players influence everything in the game. Today’s press release outlined some of the ways players can experience this during Fractured Online‘s free week.
“We are thrilled to offer MMORPG fans around the world free access to Fractured Online for a full week, no strings attached,’ says Jacopo Gallelli, Co-Founder and CEO at Dynamight Studios. ‘There’s plenty to do within the free week, such as taking part in a robust player-driven economy, crafting items and gear for personal use or trade, or take up arms again various monsters or other players in PvE/PvP combat. What players do in game is completely up to them as they can either live an honest life as a shepherd, farmer, or crafter, or choose a more violent path of hunting and scavenging.”
Fractured Online players can buy a Founder’s Pack allowing them to continue playing from where they left off after the free week ends. The free week runs from 7 am PDT on May 25th to 7 am PDT on May 31st, 2022.
