Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has seen tremendous success since its launch at the end of 2022. Infinity Ward has continued to support the game with a steady stream of significant updates and content releases. Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 introduced a new Battle Pass system, offering players various challenges and rewards to unlock. The mid-season update also brought in a new Chimera Assault Rifle and the fan-favorite Shipment map, a popular choice among players.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 began on February 15, 2023. Season 2 had a samurai-themed design, and the Castle map returned. The Castle map, set in Okinawa, Japan, was first introduced in World at War in 2008 and later updated for its appearance in Vanguard in 2022. The Call of Duty map’s setting aligns well with the theme for Season 2.
The Ronin Operator was available during Season 2 as well. The Ronin Operator made his debut in Modern Warfare 2019 and is inspired by Tu Lam, a real-life Special Forces Operator who served in the United States Army. He became a popular character when introduced in Modern Warfare Season 3 and was a hit among players again in Season 2.
Season 2 brought back Hardcore mode, a fan favorite in previous Call of Duty titles. This mode will remove the player’s HUD, lower health, and increase damage to make every shot and bit of intel more critical. The Tier 1 mode, similar to Hardcore, was available in previous seasons, but fans have eagerly awaited the return of the Hardcore playlist.
