Monster Hunter Wilds is currently the best-selling video game of 2025, according to newly released sales data from Circana. The game topped sales charts not only for the month of February, but also for the year so far, across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam platforms.
Sales on Steam alone accounted for more than half of the game’s total dollar revenue, signaling strong performance on PC in addition to the console. Compared to previous franchise entries, Monster Hunter Wilds has already outpaced Monster Hunter Rise in launch sales revenue, doubling its total dollar sales in a matter of weeks. It’s also worth noting that Monster Hunter Wilds launched at a higher price point of $69.99, compared to Monster Hunter Rise, which debuted at $59.99, yet that wasn’t enough to deter monster slayers and weapon connoisseurs from jumping right in, and rightfully so.
Capcom didn’t have it easy by any means either, the latest release from the Japanese developer was facing off against several other new titles that also took prominent positions in the top 20. The biggest one is Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which came up second and was followed by Civilization VII in third. Sports titles PGA Tour 2K25 and NBA 2K25 also made the list at sixth and fifth respectively. Meanwhile, Obsidian’s Avowed came in at 13th, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii landed in 18th place.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which previously held the top position, has dropped to fourth, while NBA 2K25 moved from second to fifth.
