We’ve entered 2025 and Steam users have revealed their top 50 most wishlisted games for this year. Both indies and AAAs are duking it out to become the most popular games on the PC digital storefront. Nevertheless, Monster Hunter Wilds has claimed the number-one spot while simultaneously ranking 15 among Steam’s top sellers. Despite the lackluster beta tests, it seems the hype from World has not died down yet and the preorders are still going strong.
Meanwhile, the promised sequel to the indie darling Hollow Knight, Silksong, secured the third position. It has been four years since Team Cherry last dropped an update but dedicated fans are still hopeful for its eventual release. This year’s gonna be the year guys, I’m sure of it!
Not far behind are heavy hitters including Civilization VII at #4, Elden Ring: Nightreign at #7, and ARK 2 at #8. Along with the dinosaur-taming simulator, Steam players are waiting for eight survival-crafting games to be out of their 2025 wishlist.
This year will also be the year for fans of iconic franchises thanks to sequels and remakes. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at #24 promises to resurrect one of gaming’s most beloved spy thrillers. Other nostalgic remakes such as the Gothic 1 Remake at #27 will offer some old-school charm with modern visuals.
Just like how Wilds and Silksong are competing head-to-head at the peak, indie games are holding their own in the Steam top 50 2025 wishlist. Games like The Sims competitor inZOI and the retro cartoon-themed FPS Mouse: P.I. For Hire illustrate the diverse tastes of Steam’s community.
