We’re weeks away from the release date of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns story expansion and NetherRealm Studios is pleasing our eyes with a new gameplay trailer of Cyrax. Unlike the Kameo and old variants of the character, Cyrax is completely overhauled in Fire God Liu Kang’s timeline. The boldest: Cyrax’s a female now! And the coolest: Her fresh moveset looks fantastic in her gameplay debut.
Who Is Cyrax in Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns?
In the past Mortal Kombat timelines, Cyrax was one of the Lin Kuei fighters, turned into a cyborg in the Cyber Linkuei Initiative program. However, Cyrax is not going to be treated that way, as she only wears this Iron Man-looking suit to represent the character.
The full name and information about Cyrax in the Mortal Kombat 1 timeline are currently unknown. However, the recent gameplay trailer points toward Cyrax joining Bi Han as allies, with Sektor as her commander. They infiltrate the Wu Shi Academy right when Kuai Liang is on his wedding day, which is an act that Bi Han is only capable of.
Just like the old timelines, this new Cyrax is also tending to stand on the good side. As we see at the beginning and towards the end of the gameplay trailer, Cyrax fights Sektor for this cause, which hints at her later change of alliance with Scorpion instead, leaving Sub-Zero to turn into Noob-Saibot.
Mortal Komabt 1 Cyrax Release Date
Cyrax will be available as one of the main Mortal Kombat 1 fighters with the Chaos Reigns DLC at launch on September 24, 2024. She is a part of the Kombat Pack 2 DLC characters, joining the chaos alongside Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan. The guest fighters won’t be available at launch.
