Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have released the new Mortal Kombat 11 story trailer. The original, time-bending narrative continues the rich and well developed epic story fans have come to love. See the trailer below:
MK 11 picks up where we last left off. Raiden has defeated the Elder God, Shinnok, but has managed to anger Kronika in the process. The balance between good and evil has been thrown off and must be restored. Moreover, Kronika must rewind time to the beginning and restart history to set things right.
The Mortal Kombat series has always managed to draw fans in with incredible storytelling. Players take on the role of past and present characters who must join forces in this latest installment. Shao Khan’s Outworld armies must be stopped and the temporal crisis solved in order to save the realms.
Three returning characters from Mortal Kombat X have been revealed alongside the release of the new trailer. Get ready to step into the shoes of Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, and Erron Black. If two of the names sound familiar, it’s because they are the children of three beloved series’ characters.
Cassie Cage is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. She is the commander of an elite Special Forces unit. Jacqui Briggs, as her name denotes, is the daughter to Jax Briggs, and has followed in her father’s footsteps. Erron Black is described as a “thrill-seeking outlaw hooked on the adrenaline of chasing his own pursuits”. Erron dresses like a gunslinger and has the skills to match.
These three returning characters join an ever-increasing Mortal Kombat 11 roster, which already includes Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Baraka, Kabal, Jade, Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and more. Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on April 23rd for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players who pre-order now will receive the in-game playable character, Shao Khan. PlayStation and Xbox owners who pre-order will have access to the beta from March 28th through the 31st.
Coupled with fantastic play mechanics, the new story mode will only add to the anticipation of Mortal Kombat 11. Provided that it keeps up the series’ momentum, MK 11 looks to be another promising installment. Are you excited for more Mortal Kombat? Let us know in the comments below!
