When people have to deal with jerks on the road, the normal thing might be to give them the finger and keep on driving. The not-so-normal thing to do is to stop, get out of your car, and confront them. That’s what you call “road rage,” and it is in no way normal. We often see examples of these moments going south really fast, usually resulting in someone getting hurt. Not today!
In a video posted by Reddit user LynxDotCA on r/PublicFreakout, several drivers came to the rescue when a woman was confronted by another driver in front of her in Huntington Beach, CA. The motorist recording had their phone at the ready, well before the confrontation went down. Based on some of the dialogue later in the video, the attacker may have been causing trouble beforehand.
While stopped at an intersection, the attack gets out of his car and punches the window of the car behind him. The driver next to her, the one recording, immediately speaks up, “Hey, what are you doing, man?” The attacker appears taken aback, probably realizing he’s on camera because he then immediately heads back to his car.
The driver recording continues, “Don’t f*****g do that shit. Get back in your f*****g car.” He then proceeds to get out of his car, along with another driver. “You just f*****g almost got me into an accident, a*****e, with your f*****g road rage,” the driver says.
Meanwhile, the other helpful driver is telling the attacker to get back into his car. “You put all our lives in f*****g danger,” which is a good point. This is also suggests the attacker may have been a danger on the road before the video’s owner started recording. Luckily, other drivers manage to crowd the attacker, one of whom shoves the attacker, to enter his vehicle and leave.
It’s a good thing a few Good Samaritans were around to witness the confrontation, and doubly so for them to take action. There’s no telling what may have happened otherwise. Sometimes drivers with road rage will pound your car a couple times and then be on their way, but the fact they get out of their car at all is troubling. It was better they did something than take the chance of it getting worse.
