Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace hits shelves this year and aims to keep the young hero’s momentum going. It has been quite a few months for Kamala Khan, and now she is back to fulfill her role as an X-Man. After dying and coming back in last year’s Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant, the young hero learned of her mutant heritage. That series, from MCU actress Iman Vellani and Sabir Prizada, followed Khan’s battle against Orchis and their Stark Sentinels. Now, Ms. Marvel is back and ready to take on her next Marvel villain: Mojo.
Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace
Marvel is gearing up for another Ms. Marvel adventure. The publisher recently revealed Derrick Chew’s variant cover for the debut of Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace. The new series brings Marvel actress Iman Vellani back to her comic counterpart. She is teaming up once again with Sabir Pirzada for this sequel series. It also brings artist Scott Godlewski along for the ride.
This new series finds Kamala Khan embracing her mutant identity. After her first mission with the X-Men, the young hero is heading back home for some much-needed rest and introspection. Not only did she uncover her mutant heritage, but it came about in the middle of the biggest war mutants have seen in some time. So, this new role as an X-Man is going to require balance and skill that Ms. Marvel hasn’t needed before, especially as her hometown may have a hard time adjusting to her new mutant identity. However, before she can process all this, she must face off with one of the X-Men’s greatest villains — Mojo.
Lights, Camera, Action
Mojo is an iconic and powerful X-villain with a unique way of putting mutants through the ringer. The classic baddie is an interdimensional ruler who resides over his television-obsessed Mojoworld. As such, the villain is known for creating and broadcasting violent television shows that star different mutants forced to battle to the death. He has a long history of confrontation with the X-Men and his two archnemeses, Longshot and Spiral.
Now, it seems Ms. Marvel is about to find herself starring in her own twisted television show. Surely, she is smart enough and strong enough to get herself out…right?
Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace is a four-issue limited series debuting 03/06.
