Warner Bros has released a new gameplay trailer for MultiVersus that shows Beetlejuice in action. The developer also confirmed that the new character will join the game’s cast on August 20, 2024. He is an assassin-class fighter like Arya Stark and Marvin the Martian and the trailer shows off some of his moves, voice lines, interactions with other characters, and some potential costumes.

The trailer doesn’t just show off the new character but also acknowledges the upcoming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie by Tim Burton which is slated for release in early September of 2024. This doesn’t exactly come as a shock, as a leaker already confirmed that Beetlejuice was coming to MultiVersus, but we didn’t know for sure until now. The leaker in question used a datamine for these predictions and made other predictions as well, which could also be true.

The Beetlejuice gameplay trailer for MultiVersus shows some of his abilities, which look well-animated and thematically correct. Like him falling into a coffin and transforming his arms into weapons he can use to attack opponents. To top it off, other characters can be seen in costumes similar to those of Beetlejuice himself, possibly hinting at costumes for every character in the game.

The end of the trailer also shows Samurai Jack and the keen observers among you might have already noticed a new costume for Jack as it appears for a split second in the trailer. The roster is steadily increasing, and while fans aren’t exactly stoked about the character-unlocking system, the player numbers are fairly consistent.

MultiVersus recently got season 2, which added Ranked mode and new stages, including the Water Tower Stage and Dexter’s Lab Stage, along with other upcoming features. MultiVersus is available to play for free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
