It appears that Walter White from Breaking Bad is under development as a forthcoming MultiVersus character. According to a well-known leaker in the MultiVersus community, Bryan Cranston’s Walter White will be included on the roster.
Could Breaking Bad’s Walter White Be MultiVersus’ New Character?
MultiVersus, a free-to-play fighting game, was released earlier this year. Since its release in July via free DLC, it has already added several additional characters to the roster, including a Gremlin, LeBron James, and Rick and Morty. And the latest leak says Walter White might be at work.
A leaker named Shady tweeted in many cryptic ways that their most significant leak to date was on the way. He hinted that the character would be a “third party” rather than someone Warner Bros. already owned by posting three male emojis and a party hat. Shady posted an alien emoji first, then added “there’s more than one,” then retweeted an image with the caption “what was he cooking.” The leaker also included a crystal ball emoji, which led people to speculate that they meant “cooking crystals,” which Shady also retweeted.
However, Shady also said they were not sharing any concrete proof and wanted to talk with their source before confirming definitively. Walter White may be more difficult to develop from a gameplay standpoint, but a few crucial scenes from the show might serve as inspiration.
Nonetheless, it appears improbable that Walter White would visit MultiVersus in the future because of legal restrictions. Sony Pictures owns Breaking Bad, while Warner Bros. owns MultiVersus. Warner Bros. spending a significant sum of money only to use the Breaking Bad license for one character for MultiVersus sounds highly odd, while it is not impossible.
MultiVersus is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5,
