RPG developer Beamdog is bringing back their MythForce Steam demo after being named one of the Top 50 demos of last month. June 2023 was the Steam Next Fest event, and a vast multitude of developers presented their working projects. Being in the Top 50 is a relatively big deal when it comes to promoting new titles in the industry. We covered MythForce when it was initially announced, but let’s dive back in while the demo still stands!
MythForce Demo – The Castle of Evil Invites Roguelike Chaos for Round 2
Evil awaits. Trouble stirs about as four brave heroes assemble to put an end to their foes. Armed with blades and magic, these four unique characters must progress through an ever-changing atmosphere where vibrancy and nostalgia come into play. It’s all in the form of a classic Saturday morning cartoon, as it’s all about fun, action, and spectacle!
Meet your heroes: Victoria the Knight, Rico the Rogue, Maggie the Mage, and Hawkins the Hunter. Each player will assume the role of one of these characters, individually equipped with a unique set of skills. In familiar roguelike fashion, the four players will need to do their best to reach the end of their runs. Otherwise, a restart may be in order.
MythForce comes from developer Beamdog, a Canada-based team that worked on the Enhanced versions of Baldur’s Gate I and II. For their newest title, publisher Aspyr will be handling the big guns here.
As we mentioned before, MythForce is one of Steam’s Top 50 demos from their Next Fest event for June 2023. It ranked at number 36 in a list that includes a wide variety of popular titles many players are anticipating. Some that come to mind are are Lies of P, Sea of Stars, Warhaven, and many others.
