During childhood, we might all remember a time when we pretended to be kings, princesses, soldiers, doctors, or any other characters our imagination let us become. It can be difficult to hold onto that same imagination anymore as grown adults, but it would appear that Prince Harry’s wife, the self-esteemed Meghan Markle, still imagines herself in the shoes of royalty.
It’s been well over five years since Megxit happened, yet Meghan never wishes to let go of her royal title as Duchess of Sussex. She still hopes for others to see her as a duchess as well, and even seemingly gave Harper’s BAZAAR writer quite the shocker.
“We’re in a grand brownstone on the Upper East Side that belongs to one of Meghan’s friends. When I enter, the house manager announces, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,’ even though we appear to be the only other two people in the house.”
Knowing full well that whatever the writer experienced would become a piece for the famous magazine, many believe it was intentional that a staff member would “announce” Meghan’s arrival, despite there being no audience to react besides one. “Her delusions knows no bounds,” remarks a critic on Reddit. “Who announces themselves like that, its not even her home!” exclaimed another. Despite all her past negative statements on the Palace and even the Queen herself, Meghan Markle seems to cherish the idea that she’s still in the royal fold.
To be fair, Grazia Daily UK argues that Meghan is still technically a Duchess thanks to her marriage to Prince Harry. But many critics are upset that she doesn’t drop the title, considering it’s more or less a fancy PR label that disrespects the Royal Family. During her interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, Meghan Markle also talks about how much Harry and her mother have helped her. However, “once again no mention of how much she loves Harry, her mother or her kids. She is a narcissist at this highest level,” one commenter notices.
Getting a foothold back into the royal fold that she left with Harry isn’t Meghan’s only dream. She’s also returning to Hollywood and looking to act in roles outside her work on her Netflix series. Unfortunately, the With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration that’s been anticipated for months now doesn’t seem like it will fare much better than the show’s previous two seasons. The recent trailer drop has unsurprisingly a ratio of 90% overwhelmingly negative dislikes. And as one person says, it’s “Meghan cosplaying the princess of wales,” a play pretending to be royalty.
