NBA 2K23 features connectivity with the MyNBA2K23 mobile companion app, available to download on Google Play Store for Android phones and Apple App Store for iOS devices. Using the app lets you redeem Locker Room codes and use the Scan Your Face feature for your MyPLAYER custom character for the MyCAREER mode. However, some players reported that they are having trouble signing in into the app and cannot use the highly-anticipated face scan feature. Here’s 2K Games’ official statement regarding the fix to the “failed to log in to 2K Sports” error message for the NBA 2K23 companion app.
Fixing the Failed to Log In to 2K Sports Error in NBA 2K23 Mobile App
Update: @NBA2K has confirmed that the issue has been fixed on September 13 and users should download the latest version of the MyNBA2K23 app on the Play Store or App Store.
Unfortunately, there is no known fix for this issue at the time of writing. Nevertheless, NBA 2K23 developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K has officially recognized the “failed to log in to 2K Sports” error that keeps happening with the MyNBA2K23 app and said that a fix is on the way.
On Twitter, the @NBA2K account wrote that before logging into the MyNBA2K23 app, players must already log into their console or PC account first. That means you should be able to access the app if you have an active NBA 2K23 save file on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Steam before syncing your account with the app. But the fact that a certain proportion of players cannot access the app still remains.
For now, anyone who’s impacted by the issue won’t be able to use NBA 2K23‘s face scan feature or redeem Locker Room codes through the app, and we’ll update this article once Visual Concepts and 2K have released a patch to fix the “failed to log in to 2K Sports” error.
