De’Aaron Fox is one of the best young point guards in the NBA. However, after a Friday night matchup with his old team, the Sacramento Kings, apparently there is some bad blood. However, it may not even be between two players. After the Kings took down the San Antonio Spurs on Friday with a final score of 127-109. De’Aaron’s wife, Recee Fox, had a lot to say to her husband’s former teammate, Malik Monk.
According to the NY Post, De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk did not have anything to say directly to one another, but surely the little talk Monk had with Recee was about his old teammate. Monk and Fox were even teammates in college and admitted that Fox was one of the main reasons he signed with the Kings. However, Fox has found a new home with the Spurs after getting traded by the Kings at the NBA trade deadline. De’Aaron made his first return to Sacramento on Friday, and it was just as interesting as anyone would have guessed. However, even with the argument, many fans believed that, “She needs to let her man handle that,” when it comes to Recee Fox and Malik Monk’s little post-game showdown.

While it is still unknown what the two were so passionately discussing, it seemed very heated. Reece Fox could be seen slamming her hand into her fist multiple times to try to get her point across. However, on the court directly after the game is most likely not the best place for a conversation of that magnitude. Things got so heated that a worker even tried to step between the two. Eventually, Monk had enough and walked away from the argument.
De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk played on the same NBA team for three years together. However, their time together goes back even farther than that. The two were on the same team at Kentucky. Just a few years ago, the Sacramento Kings were a solid team in the NBA’s Western Conference. However, things can fall apart pretty fast in the league. Now, Fox is in San Antonio with one of the league’s best young talents in Victor Wembanyama.
The NBA is a business, and sometimes, it can be hard for some players to accept that fact. However, Reece Fox and Malik Monk need to understand that there is a time and a place for that conversation. The conversation most likely should be between Monk and De’Aaron Fox, not Monk and Fox’s wife.
