EA and Ghost Games have finally revealed the latest game in the arcade racer: Need for Speed Heat. The game will release on November 5 on PC Origin Access and worldwide launch on November 8 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This comes after the title of the game was leaked by an Austrian retailer last week.

In a press release, Riley Copper, Creative Director retreated that cars are the main focus. Here is what he had to say:

fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect.

EA revealed the game with a short teaser trailer. In this trailer (that you can see below), we see the environments that we can expect to race in, some of the key characters, and of course classic Need for Speed style – cop chases.

Like Payback, Heat seems to tackle new forms of storytelling – something previous Need for Speed games haven’t really ‘dabbled’ with. The trailer has an emphasis on the characters just as much as the cars themselves. We have also learned that the game will take place in the fictional city of Palm City.

Expect more info on Need for Speed Heat next week at Gamescom, where an extended trailer will be showcased, and a build will be playable for those in attendance. Gamescom: Opening Night, hosted by Geoff Keighley is a good place to look for that.

Do you like the look of this initial Need for Speed Heat Trailer? Or do you need to see gameplay to give your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
