After yesterday’s cryptic teaser, EA has announced that they will be releasing Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered for $29.99. PlaySstation 4, Xbox One, and PC players can play it early on November 6th while Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait a little bit longer, until November 13.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered includes all main DLC — the SCPD Rebel Racer, Super Sports, Armed & Dangerous, Lamborghini Untamed, and Porsche Unleashed Pack. Current-gen updates, such as cross-platform multiplayer, Autolog system, cross-platform sync, enhanced visuals, new achievements, an updated photo mode, and gallery, will also be available.

EA claimed that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit’s visual have been “upgraded for today’s generation of hardware”:

  • 4K/60 FPS is supported on PC.
  • PS4 Pro and Xbox One X players can switch between 4K/30 FPS or 1080p/60 FPS
  • Base PS4 and Xbox One will run at 1080p/30 FPS.
  • Nintendo Switch version runs at 1080p/30 FPS in docked mode, or 720p/30 FPS while undocked.

And although the official site states that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered includes higher-resolution models, more objects and props, longer draw distance, higher resolution shadows, improved videos, upressed UI, higher resolution reflections, boosted textures, more particles, and improved AA/SSAO., a comparison video made by YouTuber CROWNED shows that there are barely any noticeable differences between the Xbox 360 version, original PC, and the remaster. See it for yourself here.

It’s a bit of a shame that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered doesn’t really increase the visual fidelity of the game. Especially since you can no longer buy the original Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit on Steam. The store page is still up but the price and buy button is gone. You can still buy it on Origin, though. Still, what do you personally think of this remaster? Let us know in the comments below.
