“Sex Education”: From Acclaimed TV Show to Manga
Sex Education was created by English writer Laurie Nunn. It premiered on Netflix as an exclusive in January 2019. Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, and Gillian Anderson star in the series. The show is credited with helping to launch the career of Ncuti Gatwa, who now serves as the next Doctor in Doctor. Who. Gatwa is also set to appear in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie.
The premise of the show follows the lives of students, staff, and parents at Moordale Secondary School as they deal with their personal dilemmas. Often, these dilemmas are related to sexual intimacy and relationships.
Since its debut, the show has been a massive hit on Netflix. So far, it has seen positive reviews from both critics and casual watchers. Much of the praise centers on the fact that the show has frank and mature handling of sexual topics, rather than glorifying and or condemning them.
The third and most recent season debuted in September 2021. Currently, there is a fourth season on the way, but the time frame for the fourth season is unknown as of now. All three seasons of Sex Education are available to watch only on Netflix.
