She makes some fine points

For years, boomers have been saying that millennials make some of the worst employees. They believe that we have questionable work ethics and question authority. But when it all comes down to it, millennials are some of the most tech-savvy, purpose-driven employees who put their best feet forward. Now, a Nevada woman is speaking up about why millennials are some of the best workers and how they prove their motivation every day.

Jillian (@jilliangerhardt) shared a TikTok video talking about millennial work ethic and how it’s unheard of in other generations. She starts by saying that “Millennials would show up to work hungover, dehydrated” and still “clock in three hours before” they’re supposed to. She comments on how dependable millennial workers are, including herself. Jillian said even if she had a long night out on the city, “we showed up. We were responsible.”

Jillian goes on to say that millennials could attend a meeting as nervous as could be, and still pretend “like nothing was wrong.” Millennials are known to put on a brave face and handle the ridiculousness of so many jobs that ask so much of their workers. She hilariously states at the end, “We’re basically unpaid extras in our own lives.”

Given, Jillian is making jokes as she explains how millennials tackle everyday life with grace even after being out late, drinking, a lot of nights. But there’s a lot of reality to what she says. Boomers have always criticized the work ethic of millennials. They also tend to make claims like “Millennials are bad with money.” They do this, not fully understanding how difficult it is to survive and thrive in our economy. And to add insult to injury, the economy being like this can somewhat be attributed to Boomers themselves. Because of Boomers in power, policies and choices led to wealth inequality that won’t soon be mended.

One commenter hilariously commented on Jillian’s video, “THIS is why we wore business professional attire to the club… Cause we were going to work the next day in the same outfit.” Another person stated, “We went hard. Now we are in our 40s and crave rest.” But millennials won’t be resting anytime soon because there are things to do and things to fix. Society and our economy worsens annually. It could be a long time until a millennial sees retirement, if ever. That strong work ethic will continue to come in handy.
