According to Deadline and several other news outlets, Netflix original series House of Cards will be adding actress Neve Campbell to their roster for Season 4. Sources close to the show are apparently staying tight-lipped on what exactly Ms. Campbell’s role will be, but for a while now rumors have been floating around about a new, younger power couple that will rise up to challenge the Underwoods in an upcoming election. Because of this rumor, many sites are speculating that Campbell will be the female half of that power couple, although frankly (ha! get it?!) it’s just as likely that she could be a new fling for Frank, a reporter hot on the heels of Frank and Claire’s marital troubles, or the proprietor of Frank’s favorite barbeque joint.
Neve Campbell had great success as an actress in the 90s with hits like Scream, The Craft, Wild Things, and the long-running teen drama Party of Five. Since then, she has been working fairly regularly, although she hasn’t has any meaty roles. This is unusual, as she didn’t suffer from any major meltdowns, horrible plastic surgery botchings, or any of the other things one would expect to derail a burgeoning star. In fact, she made People‘s “50 Most Beautiful People” list in 2000 (for the second time) just before her marquis roles started to drop off.
Season 4 of House of Cards is set to release sometime next year, so we should have plenty more news before then.
Here’s hoping that Neve Campbell enjoys a great success on a fantastic show. Also hoping she doesn’t get Sean Bean’d halfway through the season.
