  • Unlock Memetics to Make Fuel in Once Human
  • Specializations That Might Help Make Fuel in Once Human

Fuel is precious in Once Human— you just won’t realize this until you’ve run out of Premium Fuel and now have to siphon the leftover grease from car wreckages. Luckily, you don’t have to do this too much if you know how to make fuel in Once Human and its 1.0 full-release state. I’ll be walking you through this process so that nothing is stopping you in your motorized exploration, apart from the apocalypse.

Unlock Memetics to Make Fuel in Once Human

First off, you need to unlock a couple of key Memetics before you can start refining fuel. You need these two:

Logistics – Solar Generator (03 Ascendance)
Infrastructure – Fuel Refinery (02 Empowerment)

Additionally, you need the following crafting materials for each structure:

StructureCrafting Material
Solar Generatorx25 Steel Ingot
x8 Copper Ingot
x5 Glass
x4 Refined Part
x4 Fireproof Plastic
x8 Electronic Part
x3 Fuse
Refining Facilityx25 Bronze Ingot
x10 Copper Ingot
x5 Electronic Part
x10 Standard Part

I recommend unlocking the Solar Generator first. That’s because the Refining Facility you unlock through the Fuel Refinery Memetic actually needs a good amount of electricity. It’s just not going to work if you haven’t set up your power network (which is easy enough if you already have Solar Generators).

Each Refining Facility consumes 10W, while an individual Solar Generator produces 15W. Just wire your Solar Generator to your Refining Facility. If you already have the Memetics set up and have built the Solar Generator and the Refining Facility, you can now start refining Mixed Fuel into Premium Fuel.

Premium Fuel is simply exponentially better than Portable Mixed Fuel and will replenish your vehicle’s fuel gauge so much more.

Specializations That Might Help Make Fuel in Once Human

So sadly, you will still need to manually collect Portable Mixed Fuel from old and broken cars. However, a certain Specialization can help you find alternatives. That would be the following:

Transform Acid into Portable Mixed
Fuel more efficiently.

Now, the exchange isn’t exactly ideal, given how scarce Acid can be or how in demand it is for other recipes. However, if you already have a reliable Acid production system set up, then you can divert some of that Acid into Portable Mixed Fuel. You can then transform it into Premium Fuel.

I wouldn’t use this method unless you’re in dire need of Premium Fuel, of course. There might be better uses for Acid.
