Industry analyst Michael Pachter believes that a new Bioshock game could be coming our way as early as 2020.
In a revealing article written by GamesIndustry’s Brendan Sinclair, several analysts gave their verdicts on what to expect over the coming year. Whilst many hot takes featured throughout, Michael Pachter’s focus on Take-Two potentially making the huge announcement of Bioshock 2020 was a highlight.
“We will get major game announcements from Take-Two. I think we’ll hear about a new BioShock game and a new title from Rockstar, both for 2020. It would be cheating to say that the company will announce Borderlands, since it will probably happen before this article is published.“
We haven’t received a core title in this series since Infinite, which was released way back in 2013. With a staggering 94% on Metacritic, Infinite was a huge critical success and a sequel almost felt inevitable at the time. Both the original Bioshock and Bioshock 2 were equally huge hits among both critics and fans alike.
However, outside of Infinite’s “Burial at Sea,” episodic expansions, 2K Games have left us wanting more for over five years now regarding a new adventure. Whilst only predictions in nature, having professional industry analysts predict a new Bioshock game is very exciting news.
If you find yourself having the itch to play the series, there are still good options in 2019. Bioshock: The Collection features complete remasters of both the original and its sequel. Infinite even comes bundled as part of the collection along with all its DLC. Both remastered titles run at 1080p, 60 FPS and are available for Xbox One, PS4, Windows and macOS.
The Collection goes on sale often on both Xbox and Steam with between 50% and 75% of its retail price usually deducted. It’s available right now on Xbox One for just £11.25 for those with Xbox Live Gold. Be sure to be fast though as the sale ends very soon!
