Prince Harry and the press seem to be getting along now, especially as he has settled in America, but a new book shows the prince was paranoid about the British press. Harry and the press have been inseparable since he relocated with his family to the US. He had no problem granting a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The former royal couple who stepped down in 2020 also made numerous TV appearances and agreed to a Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary. More recently, he took to writing, filling his tell-all memoir “Spare” with his life story. His revelations did not spare his deceased mom, Diana, and brother.
Despite fans and critics being astounded by the details, the book quickly climbed up the best-selling ladder on just pre-orders. While the palace has remained mute on everything in the book, including allegations, Valentine Low, a U.K Times reporter dropped a bombshell on Prince Harry and the press.

Prince Harry and The Press: Prince Harry Paranoid And Questioned Loyalty
Back in the Palace, Prince Harry and the press frustrated the royal staff. This was way before he met Meghan Markle, the former actress-turned-royal. Low’s “Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor,” published on January 24, explored the lives of royal aides in the palace.
According to many accounts, Harry was troublesome when it came to addressing the press. He did not study his fights and never listened to the royal aides. The aides watched Prince Harry, paranoid about their cautions. When they warned him to never engage with the media, he questioned their loyalty.
Allegedly, Harry termed the Royal Rota as “the cartel.” It granted royal reporters a pass to palace events, but to the Duke of Sussex, it emboldened the writers who published false stories about him. Low told Fox News:
“Harry hated the media and just reacted badly to anything negative. He saw negativity when there was no negativity … That just always makes life very difficult.”
However, Prince Harry and the press tussle only intensified when he fell in love with Markle. He was determined to dictate the narrative.
A source reported that Markle threatened to end things if he refused to tell the world that they were lovers. Another report was that Markle accused the palace of undermining their relationship.
But years after satisfying his wife, and even exiting the royal family, he still carries paranoia about the British press. Low claimed William phoned Harry after his Netflix documentary aired and scheduled an appointment, but the Duke of Sussex canceled it thinking his brother’s staff would leak it.
