You expect society to stand up when other humans are in need. It doesn’t matter your age or where you’re from; everybody needs assistance now and then. Unfortunately, a group of CVS workers in New Jersey didn’t get that memo. Having an apparent bad day, they took it out on an elderly man who needed help with the store’s technology. And when one local woman stepped in to defend him, they had something to say.
TikToker @beautifulrose83 shared a TikTok video of a group of CVS employees berating an older male customer at their store. Why? Apparently, he was struggling to use their computer. This TikToker heard one of the employees say to him, “It wasn’t that hard” as rudely as possible. Because of this, she decided to step in and stand up for him. When she told the workers it’s not easy for everybody to use this technology, they told her to “mind her business.”
The TikToker watched the man struggle on their computer to get his medication. He asked them how to confirm the on-screen question, and the worker loudly stated, “The BLUE.” She continued to tell him the pen doesn’t work when he attempted to use it, clearly frustrated by how long he was taking. When his order didn’t go through, she asked, “Did you hit the blue?!” It’s very clear she was losing her patience with him.
When the man finishes, @beautifulrose83 approaches the counter and asks for the manager. They tell her the manager isn’t in today. She says they didn’t have to tell her to “mind her business” after she stood up for the man. The CVS worker, who was being rude to the customer, decides to respond with anger after hearing this. When she tells the CVS worker that it was rude to say “it’s not that hard” to the man, she looks baffled, as if she’s been slapped. She responds with, “It’s NOT!” The fact that she can’t see what’s wrong with that behavior is a bit infuriating, to say the least. It’s no way to treat an elderly customer.
One commenter stated, “Being a good human isn’t hard.” Another person mentioned, “One day, you will get old. You will have brain fog and forget some things. You will forget how to do something routinely when you have done it with your eyes closed in the past. Learn to be patient, be kind, lend a hand, help guide, stand up for someone who may need your help.” These are words all people need to live by.
