In an ever-growing era of videos about violence or political disagreements, a wholesome video every now and then is highly needed. Personally, I don’t like being bombarded with bad news left and right, and will actively seek out more heartwarming videos to keep the balance. Today, I didn’t need to look too far, as a video showed up on my For You Page that I’ve already sent to every group chat I have. A New Jersey father managed to convince a priest to bless his daughter’s cat because she was running late for an appointment. You read that correctly. Let’s hope that she was able to make it to wherever she was going; it seems like it was really important!
The above video, posted to the TikTok account @whoiskendallxlogan, features a father driving up to an outdoor event where a priest is present. You can see the dad very casually walk up to the priest and ask him to bless his cat, who was seated in his car. More specifically, he says, “I have my daughter’s cat here, and she’s running late. You think you can just…” Without skipping a beat, the priest agreed and walked over to the open driver’s side window to start blessing the cat. Of course, not without asking for the cat’s name; Leo.
As he would have done with anyone else, he said a short prayer to Leo before sprinkling Holy Water over him. What’s hilarious is how well Leo handled the entire situation. The internet was quick to eat up the video and comment, with one focusing on the dad and priest specifically, saying, “just two grown men giggling over a cat 😂😂🫶🏼” Other commentators also left hilarious comments, with many of the top ones featuring screenshots of Leo from the video. Another one of my favorite comments says, “I’m not catholic but I always love the blessing of the animals videos.”
If you look through the other videos on the account, you can tell it belongs to the daughter, Kendall, detailing different aspects of her life, including having lived at home with her parents. Kendall even posted an apartment tour video where you can clearly see that it’s her father filming as she does the tour. It’s obvious that she has an incredible relationship with her dad, and this particular video wasn’t just an uncommon wholesome moment. I’m glad that Leo has such a loving family, and hope that since he’s been blessed, it will provide a bit of luck to his owner.
