An electrician in New Jersey arrived at a home after the owner reported some electrical issues. Things took an unexpected turn when the home turned out to be the hoarder kind. The electrician wasn’t having any of it and chose to promptly leave.
The bizarre interaction was shared online by Chris Henderson, also known as hendythesparky. He, alongside his father, Garrett, works at Henelect Electrical Contractors and often shares the ins and outs of their work. The hoarder clip went viral, as it garnered 343,900 views, 13,900 likes, and more than 500 comments in less than a day.
Both New Jersey men are shown arriving at the house that required some electrical work. Garrett is shown interacting with the potential customer, who explains the issues he was experiencing with his home. Apparently, the house had experienced electrical fluctuations for a week, potentially caused by trees touching the power lines.
After explaining that someone from the power company had come and checked the electrical box and meter and found nothing wrong with the power, Garrett said he wanted to take a look inside the man’s house, specifically his electrical panel.
Electrician Bounces
As soon as Garrett and Chris were about to enter the house, the father quickly noticed piled boxes in the entrance. It was a hoarder house, and the owner even asked them to wear masks due to potential health risks. The New Jersey dad backed out immediately.
“Nah, I’ll stay out. You know what, Chris? Come on, I don’t think this is for us. Let’s go,” Garrett said.
Chris stayed behind for a bit, and he briefly talked to the homeowner. The younger Henderson apologized, but said it was the boss’s call, and the homeowner said it was fine, adding that he was not going to insist on them entering the house if they preferred not to.
Once inside the truck, Garrett told Chris about the house’s condition, saying that he wasn’t willing to work on a place like that. He added, “You don’t want a customer like this. Trust me.”
