Even when it feels like your whole world is falling apart, sometimes the love of a grandparent can make everything feel normal. We rely on grandparents to cherish us and encourage us to be better versions of ourselves. When you have caring grandparents that are still walking this great planet, it pays to hold them close. This is what a New Jersey woman discovered when her fiery and hilarious grandma found out she didn’t get the job she interviewed for with American Airlines.
An unnamed granddaughter shared a recent video on her TikTok @mygrandmalizzie, where she shares the sweetest videos of her grandmother. Grandmother Lizzie is so full of life and expression, and she gives our lives meaning just watching her for a few seconds! The granddaughter captioned her video, “My grandma who was an American Airlines flight attendant when she found out I didn’t make it past the first round of my American Airlines flight attendant interview.” It turns out, Lizzie was a flight attendant for American Airlines for a good portion of her life. She was really betting on her granddaughter crushing the interview and walking away with the job.
Grandma Lizzie appears so excited as she waits to hear the news on the interview. You can tell it’s difficult for this granddaughter to break the bad news to her. She tells Lizzie, “I got cut after the first round.” When she says this, Grandma Lizzie looks up at her in disbelief from the backseat of the car. She exclaims, “You got cut?! What do you mean?” When the granddaughter tells her she didn’t get the job, Lizzie’s surprise and shock only grows. She shouts out, “Son of a b***h!” as all grandmas do when they know their grandchildren deserved better. This is the support every grandchild needs in their life.
In a later video, this granddaughter shares Grandma Lizzie in her prime. She shows photographs taken of Lizzie in 1962, wearing her adorable flight attendant suit and smiling happily for the camera. As her granddaughter states, she “ruled the skies!” I know I’m definitely on board with this wonderful Grandma Lizzie content that would grab anybody by the heartstrings and never let go.
One commenter joked on this woman’s video, “Did you mention her name? A little nepotism can go a long way.” Another person replied, “My fiancé got hired as a truck driver for a local company a few years ago. His boss told him that, mentioning his grandpa was a truck driver and that’s what got him interested in doing it, helped determine hiring him.” As for Grandma Lizzie, it’s apparent she’ll support her granddaughter wherever she ends up. She is always rooting for her!
