There’s an alarming number of people flocking to social media, saying that the Iranian War is a sign of the end times. According to biblical messages, conflict with Iran means the second coming of Jesus. Some believers are taking this quite literally. Unfortunately, in doing so, they’re dismissing the fact that numerous lives are being lost on Iranian soil, and for what? One New Jersey podcaster says that she’s concerned about those who are spreading these hateful messages on social media. As she says, they’re simply “proving the phrase ‘there’s no hate like Christian love.’”
April Ajoy (@aprilajoy) shared a TikTok post of a woman dancing happily about the fact that “Jesus is coming back” since we’re at war with Iran. Now, there’s no problem with following your religion to a T. But as April says, the problem lies in the fact that some Christians fail to see the war as a negative aspect. She says we shouldn’t be dancing with “glee and excitement” over something so terrible going on politically in our world.
April goes on to say that it makes her angry that Christians could be so “callous.” She can’t believe they would dance with joy over a reason like this. She shares that she’s a Christian herself. Even knowing this, April can’t stand to see people being heartless toward other human beings. On top of that, she mentions that the same people who dance over the fact that we’re at war are a “group of people who say that empathy is toxic. They literally have none.” She adds, “To feel excitement when schools and children are being bombed is so selfish and it’s just terrible theology, too. But then to post about it is diabolical.”
One commenter pointed out, “It’s not a religion to them, it’s a fandom, and they’re all stans.” Another person shared, “As a Christian myself I am upset about this. I believe Jesus is coming back one day BUT, this is not a time to celebrate/dance when as you said children and others are being killed. I would encourage prayer for those affected. It’s not a time to dance and party when tragedy strikes.”
