Call of Duty has revealed a first look at the new character design for Lara Croft as the iconic heroine prepares to join the game as its next guest operator. Lara’s introduction was teased last week, and she will be joining the g game as part of Modern Warfare 2‘s Season 5 Reloaded Content Drop, which features new weapons, challenges, and DMZ features.

The first honest look at Lara Croft’s new design was posted on the official Call of Duty X account earlier today. It’s a far cry from the more gritty survivor Lara, who is featured in the rebooted series that was helmed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal, respectively.
Instead, the design here is far more reminiscent of the character’s early days as an action hero and features a callback to her original look with her green tank top and iconic braid. All the while looking pretty buff as she wields her iconic dual pistols. This Lara Croft is tailor-made for the game and looks like she’s right at home in a warzone.
Lara joins the growing line-up of guest operators alongside rap artist 21 Savage. Seven operators were added to the game when Season 5 first launched, including the likes of Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj. High-profile crossovers are also becoming a staple for Call of Duty, with characters from Amazon’s smash hit series The Boys entering the world of Warzone.
Season 5 Reloaded will also introduce numerous quality-of-life improvements to Warzone and new weapon blueprints, emblems, and stickers. Players can participate in new weapon camo challenges and enjoy vehicular combat action with the returning Armored Royale Mode.
There are murmurs of a new game or reimagining in the works for Lara that will allow players to experience the famous explorer’s high-octane adventures once again.

If you’re keen to step back into the shoes of Lara Croft in the meantime, then Call of Duty‘s Season 5 Reloaded will launch on August 30 at 9 AM PT across all platforms.
