We’ve seen all sorts of unholy things on the internet, but nothing will ever beat the videos where someone completely botches a good steak. Today, we have a horror story coming from a kitchen in New Orleans, Louisiana, where a chef wanted to prepare a regular dinner for her family. However, she started on the wrong foot by seasoning a good steak inside a sink. What could have been a delicious dinner turned into something horrible to watch, and we feel bad for the family who ate that steak.
The video found its way to Reddit and comes from a New Orleans chef who usually uploads cooking videos to her channel. While most of them are great and include some interesting recipes, the chef dropped the ball on this one.
In the video, she says she’s cooking a steak dinner for her family, but she starts by dropping the steak into the sink. If that isn’t bad enough, she starts seasoning it on the metal surface and scrubs the whole sink with the meat to absorb the seasoning.
What makes us believe this is either bait or a truly bad chef is that she continues to cook the dinner in the worst possible way. For starters, she throws the meat into a pot but makes the salad in a frying pan. You don’t need to be a Michelin chef to know some of these steps are wrong.
In the end, and this might be up to some people’s consideration, but the dinner doesn’t look too appetizing. Furthermore, knowing that the steak got seasoned inside a sink is a bit of a deal-breaker, as it’s something no one really does. Cutting boards exist for a reason.
As you can imagine, many food enthusiasts and people with common sense had a few things to say regarding this questionable dinner.
“My jaw dropped the entire video,” commented one user.
“Sinks are like, as dirty as toilets. So foul,” said another user.
Again, it is uncertain if the chef did all of this on purpose. Sometimes influencers “bait” people to gain views. If that was the objective, then she succeeded. If not, we hope the chef learns how, or rather, where to season a steak properly. The sink is not the best place to prepare dinner.
