Pokemon has had an interesting few years following the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield. Launching the first DLC in series history, The Pokemon Company has been looking for new spin-off opportunities that are as successful as Pokemon GO. Last June, fans got a glimpse at what’s next in Pokemon’s agenda with New Pokemon Snap. Reviving the old N64 era game to a more robust HD edition is a great way to reintroduce a beloved spin-off. While we can expect the title to function in largely the same way, the new look at the upcoming title showcases a brand new regional location in the Pokemon universe. Today, The Pokemon Company revealed a brand new trailer for the title showing off some more of the story elements and even more gameplay.

With the 25th-anniversary celebrations kicking off this year, Pokemon is certainly capitalizing on that hype with this new title. In the New Pokemon Snap trailer, there’s a large variety of locations that the trainer can visit over the course of their Pokemon picture taking. Showcasing some familiar beachside locations and forest havens, the title’s locations are very much in line with the originals locales. Of course, the main attraction is the Pokemon featured and there are tons to discover.

While the trailer doesn’t reveal any details as to the Pokedex count, we can expect to see a large majority if not all Pokemon be featured in New Pokemon Snap. Utilizing their extensive catalog of Pokemon to capture photographs of; you rides around in the NEO-ONE. Borrowing its namesake from the original Pokemon Snap vehicle, the ZERO-ONE, it seems like these vehicles function the same with on-rails photography action. Taking pictures for Professor Mirror, we can expect to see a similar photo rating system much like the original. With the title launching in just a couple of months on April 30, more details are sure to arrive as we inch closer to seeing more from the Lental region.
