Comicbook news is reporting that the highly anticipated follow-up trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has just dropped and it shows off some old villains from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. Doc Oc, The Green Goblin, Sandman, Electro, and Lizard are all part of this high-stakes trailer that intends to put this universe’s Peter Parker to the test.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to be released on December 17.

This new trailer gives us the best look at all the baddies returning from the Sam Raimi trilogy that first premiered in 2002 with Spider-Man. Doc Oc appears to be the lynchpin for the narrative as we see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker asking Alfred Molina’s Doc Oc for help. The problem arises when Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, tells Peter that they are all (old villains presumably) inevitably going to die, and that’s just how it has to be. But Peter being Peter will try and not let that happen.

Along with all the amazing visuals in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, we also hear, for the first time in decades, Willem Dafoe, reprise his role as the Green Goblin. Along with Dafoe, Jamie Foxx is also returning as Electro, along with Thomas Haden Church as Sandman, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curtis Connors AKA Lizard.

Where Are the Other Spider-Men?

Although we did not see Tobey McGuire or Andrew Garfield in this trailer, that does not mean they are not confirmed. With what we saw and heard in this trailer, all options should be on the table and when the old villains are too much for this universe’s Peter Parker, I can think of no other suitable options to help this universe’s Peter Parker than Peter Parker’s from other universes. This specific iteration of Spider-Man has done a phenomenal job at keeping fans on their toes so I expect that we only got a morsel of what is to come and who will appear. I’m just hoping we finally get to see a live-action Spider-Gwen and with what the film’s premise promises, it just might happen.

Which one of the old villains are you most excited to see in Spider-Man: No Way Home? Tell us in the comments section!
