A woman in New York was having a great day and really feeling the vibes of Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl. So, she decided to take out her phone and film a cute video. In the clip, she’s seen showing off her all-black ensemble as her adorable dog sits next to her. She then begins to dance to Swift’s new hit song, The Fate of Ophelia, which has become a huge trend on social media. However, a man behind her wasn’t thrilled by her decision to dance on the subway.
In the caption of the TikTok video, the creator @laydayallday revealed that she asked both of the men standing behind her if they would mind if she filmed a video, and that they could be seen in it. She claims that they both said it was fine. However, one of the men seemed to change his mind quickly.
As soon as the woman started dancing around, he immediately put both of his middle fingers up and held them high above the woman’s head. She quickly noticed, but didn’t let it stop her. Instead, she smiled, laughed it off, and even put a middle finger of her own.

However, the man didn’t stop there. He took it a step further by getting closer to the woman and pushing his fingers next to her face so that he was sure the camera would see him.
Maybe the man wasn’t a Taylor Swift fan. Perhaps he felt like he wanted some attention as well, or maybe he was just a male version of a Karen, which Swift herself has called a “Chad” in the past.
The comment section obviously praised the New York woman for her subway video, and her ability to smile through the awkward interaction. “Can you imagine being bothered by this kind of happiness?” one person asked. “The smallest man who ever lived,” the video creator said, referencing a Taylor song.
“He couldn’t ruin your vibe and that made him sad,” another said. “That’s actually romantic of him,” joked another viewer, hinting at the title of one of Swift’s new songs about her haters. “Chad was fine until he heard Taylor Swift then he was triggered,” a final comment read.
It seems the man was trying to ruin the New York woman’s video. Instead, he likely got her even more views and made a fool of himself in the process.
