Unfortunately, no matter where you are in the world, you’re never safe from having your belongings stolen from you. Despite how careful you can be, there will always be people out in the world willing to make things harder for you. What makes things worse is that this sentiment is threefold for women. A New York City woman began recording the moment when her purse was stolen while walking through a subway station. She runs after the man and manages to get her purse back, but how it happens is really interesting. Fortunately, she posted the recording to TikTok so that everyone could watch and judge for themselves.

The video begins immediately after a burglar steals the woman recording’s purse. You can see that the woman immediately pursues the man through the subway halls. At one point, you can hear a different man off-camera ask if he should call the police, to which the woman agrees as she continues her pursuit. It appears that the two were walking towards the very end of the subway station where the elevators and restrooms are. I say this because she is able to catch him as he attempts to descend down an elevator.

The woman uses this moment to talk to the burglar, asking him all sorts of questions concerning why he did what he did and that if she doesn’t report him, he will continue to do it to other women. Of course, the thief tries to talk his way out of the situation, but as he does, the man from earlier who had mentioned calling the police walks up. He then confirms that the police were called and are on their way. Many of the comments are by women who are in support of the woman’s actions.

“Him getting caught and you standing up for yourself healed something in me. I’m so proud of you for speaking up 🥹”

Fortunately, it appears that the man was apprehended despite not being part of the video. Hopefully, this stops him from doing another subway crime any time soon.
