There’s no shortage of people trying to weaponize ICE calls, whether it’s a bluff or an actual act. However, one Kindergarten teacher from New York has shocked people because she wanted to deport the parents of one of her students, which would essentially make the kid an orphan. Her basis for wanting to deport them also drew outrage, as it seemed to be nothing but mere prejudice.
The recording of the call was courtesy of comedian Ben Palmer, who set up a fake deportation hotline of his own to catch some of the wildest deportation reports and xenophobic behavior from US citizens. In one of the calls, Palmer allegedly spoke with the aforementioned Kindergarten teacher who wanted to deport her student’s parents, supposedly from New York.
According to the caller, she wasn’t even sure whether the six-year-old kid’s parents are illegal or not; she merely wanted them deported back to Honduras and El Salvador, respectively, because they’re Hispanics. “It’s just odd for them to even be here… I’m not into illegal people being here,” claims the teacher as one of her reasons for the deportation call.
While the teacher seemingly never caught on that the hotline she called was fake, she nevertheless got upset with Palmer’s tone and sarcastic insinuations about how she “teaches at school, wants kindergarten child’s parents deported,” which, according to the woman, was something that “You make it sound terrible,” even though that seems to be what she wanted.
People online want the Kindergarten teacher sacked
So far, Palmer hasn’t revealed whether he reported the Kindergarten teacher to her respective school or not, but people online are nevertheless angry and disappointed at her behavior. “She didn’t sound happy about the parents being legal,” pointed out one commenter, while another says, “I hope you reported this to her school board.”
Of course, some of the more level-headed critics were concerned with the Kindergarten teacher’s alleged actions, as she supposedly “misused confidential student files” to look into the parents’ ethnicity and country of origin. Hence, some wanted proper sanctions against her illegal actions, “That is a huge violation of privacy.”
With that said, some parents in the comment section are worried if teachers are allowed to teach and handle the upbringing of children in their formative years. “Teachers and Healthcare providers that feel this way is SCARY,” according to a TikTok user, while another commenter has a new fear unlocked about the people who handle certain important institutions in society.
