The price that people will pay for items that are a nice gesture to a loved one can be alarming. One New York woman went to TikTok to share her amazement over a gift that was given to her roommate, Avery, on a first date. It was a fancy Louis Vuitton purse. Her amusing post turned into horror when she accidentally destroyed the purse. Stranger still, the woman even took a bite out of it!
The purse was shared with viewers by TikToker Ella (@tallertoddlers) who can be seen opening her refrigerator to find the Louis Vuitton purse. She explains, “I just want you to imagine how it felt opening the fridge to get some s****y leftovers and finding this Louis—“ However, this is where Ella cuts off mid-sentence, as the strap breaks and shatters on the floor. Ella looks completely shocked by the expensive mistake, as it turns out the purses are $225. Oh, and they’re made of chocolate!
Apparently, the chocolate purses are really sold by Louis Vuitton and the accessory has been dubbed the “Chocolate Egg Bag.” One commenter stated on the video, “Having roommates is h**l and that’s why.” Another quipped, “It’s fine you just need to pack up and move across the country before they notice.” Clearly, some viewers have had bad experiences with roommates.
Viewers were absolutely baffled when Ella made a follow-up video where she actually eats the chocolate purse—without Avery. Ella can be seen in her bathrobe along with one of Avery’s friends as they eat shards of the purse on camera.
Avery’s friend jokes, “It’s giving Willy Wonka.” People in the comments couldn’t believe that Ella would eat the purse after she broke it. One commenter said, “First you broke it… now you’re eating it.. WITHOUT HER. Whaaaat. Please keep these kind of friends away from me.”
Though it hasn’t been confirmed if Avery was upset, one person did some internet sleuthing. They commented, “I did research before responding :) Avery probably was disappointed about it being broken, BUT not actually upset as she stated she isn’t really into Louis V AND she didn’t know what to do with it.”
Although, this doesn’t confirm much because it doesn’t negate the fact that Ella shouldn’t have been touching her things without her permission in the first place. Friend or not, that seems like a line that you just don’t cross.
