In what could’ve been a calm and beautiful day in New York, two people who decided to perform a public fit check were yelled at by a furious woman. In a one-way battle of words, she goes on flexing her knowledge of curse words while the two watch and handle the situation as if nothing happened. But why is she mad, and is it ok to do outfit checks on a public sidewalk?
In a video uploaded to the r/PublicFreakout subreddit, two people set their phone/camera on the sidewalk, posing and, well, checking their outfit. It doesn’t seem to bother anyone at first, and the sidewalk isn’t blocked, as there’s enough room behind them for anyone who wants to walk by. However, as soon as a second of the clip passes, a woman is heard starting the chatter by yelling curse words.
Now, while it’s hard to discern what she says at first, her second statement is loud and clear: “F*** YOU!” She then proceeds to repeat that a couple of times, going louder each time to make a point that’s quite hard to digest. So, she just “didn’t like their outfit,” as one commenter puts it, or is it because there are too many outfit checks going on in New York?
“As a Manhattan resident, I pretty much see something like this happen every time I go outside,” says one user in the comments section, implying that maybe there really is too much outfit check going on in public. Another one goes “you’re already outside, too late to check your outfit.” But no matter how you cut it, a guy standing on the sidewalk filming himself shouldn’t be a concern so long as he’s not hurting anybody.
The outraged New York woman walks by after all the yells and curses and gets ready for the second round: “You son of a B****!” She also adds some more of her wisdom by actually shouting something about their outfit while the two laugh and do nothing about it, which is probably the best thing to do in these situations: stay calm and stay safe.
