Recently, Moore released a short video where she sarcastically criticized Israel, using the setting of what appeared to be a cheerful travel vlog. At first glance, the video seemed like a lighthearted review of a glamping vacation at a place called Camp Sahara. Her tone throughout the video was upbeat and bright, but layered beneath the cheerfulness were biting remarks highlighting the harsh realities faced by Palestinians.
Indya Moore described Camp Sahara as a “gated Israeli owned glamping resort on the Palestinian Dead Sea.” With a smile, she talked about how affordable the place was and how easy the journey had been, especially thanks to the so-called Israeli only roads. She quickly undercut that comment with sarcasm, noting that such convenience only exists if you’re not Palestinian. She included a jarring clip of Israeli soldiers confronting a civilian, driving home the contrast between the tourist experience and life under occupation.
The video continued with the New York actress doing yoga in front of the scenic landscape, saying, “Hashtag colonial core, hashtag stolen but stunning,” mocking social media trends while pointing out the painful irony of enjoying beauty built on injustice.
She then showed the interior of her glamping room and described it as giving off “rustic refugee camp vibes,” followed by a side-by-side comparison of Camp Sahara and a Gaza refugee camp. With biting irony, she added that her room at least had air conditioning, a mini bar, and no refugees, obviously.
Moore also noted that while the other guests seemed nice, they were casually carrying guns. She joked that Palestinians could never access the resort unless, of course, they were working there as staff.
Describing the experience, she quipped, “It’s giving Santorini but with an edge of apartheid.” She ended the video with a powerful line: “From one perspective, it’s paradise. From another, it’s prison.”
Many internet users responded positively to the video shared by Indya Moore. They found her courage refreshing and appreciated her outspoken stance against Israel. One user wrote, “God I f***ing love her. Always on the right side of history. So profound and brave and outspoken. Truly a queen.”
However, others pointed out that while her message may have been powerful, it didn’t change the fact that the New York actress still financially supported Israel by renting a room at the glamping resort.
