The teaser for the final season of Star Trek: Picard was released at San Diego Comic-Con, and it gave long-time fans the delight of seeing The Next Generation cast reunited. Variety specifically highlighted the reunion of Patrick Stewart and Gates McFadden, who portray Jean-Luc Picard and Dr. Beverly Crusher. While these two are the only members of The Next Generation cast to appear at the Comic-Con panel, other cast members reuniting in the series include Jonathan Frakes (William River), LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Worf), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), and Brent Spiner (Data and Alan Inigo Soong). Picard stars Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker) will also be returning for the show’s last season.

The Verge notes that all of these characters, except Spiner’s characters, are highlighted in the teaser giving short but deep quotes. It is worth noting that this is not the first time Picard has reunited the title character with a face from the past. Last season, Whoopi Goldberg was brought in to reprise her role as Guinan from The Next Generation.

More ‘Star Trek’ News From Comic-Con

In addition to the teaser for the last season of Picard, Paramount had more Star Trek news to announce at Comic-Con. Fans can look forward to a cross-over episode between Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. It is sure to be interesting to see live-action and animation combine, especially when that animation is in the hands of former Rick and Morty writer and producer Mike McMahan.

All the fun aside, though, seeing The Next Generation cast reunited in the final season of Star Trek: Picard is every Trekkies highlight of Comic-Con. Are you excited about this last season? Share your thoughts in the comments, on The Nerd Stash Facebook page, and @TheNerdStash on Twitter.
