Nick Cannon’s ex-wife Mariah Carey still has his heart despite being divorced for over six years. The talk show host called Mariah Carey a gift from God to him, saying she is not human. Get the details below.
Nick Cannon Calls Mariah Carey A Gift From God
Nick Cannon’s ex-wife Mariah Carey stole his heart long before he knew what love meant. The comedian and pop superstar eventually tied the knot in 2008. Their marriage produced 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. However, the pair called it quits on their relationship after six years of marriage in 2014.
Nevertheless, Nick still gushes over his ex-wife. The 42-year-old called Mariah “the love of his life” during a recent interview with The Shade Room.
He pointed out his admiration for her while reflecting on when his love for the pop star began.
“Like the greatest? I mean, I always talk about that. Then it goes viral, and our fans get mad at me,” shared Nick. “But I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and that becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met.”
Nick added that Mariah has a joyful disposition from her. He said he always marveled that she doesn’t allow other people’s negativity to get to her.
“She’s just always happy, always doing for others. No matter what’s happening in life. I’m like, ‘Wow, a person can really operate like that and don’t allow negative energy into their space.'”
The Drumline actor also called Mariah Carey a gift from God. “That woman is not human. She’s a gift from God.”
Nick And Mariah Continue To Co-Parent Amicably
Despite their divorce, Nick and Mariah continue to support each other and their children.
“They’re a lot, but they give me so much love in return. I wouldn’t be the same person without them,” Mariah told People in 2019 of the twins.
She claimed that she and Nick handled their co-parenting situation well by remaining friends and communicating.
Apart from his children with Mariah, Nick also fathers Golden Sagon, Rise Messiah Cannon, and Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. The entertainer shares twins Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa.
He shares a son, Legendary Love, with Bre Tiesi and a daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
Nick also had two children with Alyssa Scott. Their son Zen died at five months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. Their daughter Halo Marie was born on December 14, 2022.
Nick also talked about his role as a father while chatting with ET last month. The prolific father shared that his ultimate goal is ensuring his kids have a bright future.
He said he hopes that if, in any case, one of his offspring “wants to be a nuclear physicist, I know somebody at an Ivy League school that I could [hit up].”
Nick’s relationship with his ex-wife is admirable. His calling Mariah Carey a gift from God shows that he still cares for her. Hopefully, the pair will continue to have an amicable relationship.
