The investigation into the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner continues to unfold as their son, Nick Reiner, enters a not guilty plea. With autopsies still pending, questions linger about what happened inside the Los Angeles home where the couple was found dead. Fans are reacting emotionally, calling the situation “heartbreaking.”
Nick Reiner Pleads Not Guilty Amid Pending Autopsies
Nick Reiner, 32, appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, Feb. 23, wearing a brown jumpsuit, a shaved head, and facial hair. He was arraigned before Judge Theresa McGonigle on two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, including the use of a knife, in connection with the December 2025 deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.
Per People, prosecutors allege that Nick fatally stabbed his parents in their Brentwood residence before fleeing the scene. If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty. Nick, along with his Deputy Public Defender, Kimberly Greene, pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. Greene took over the case in January after attorney Alan Jackson withdrew.
During the hearing, Nick waived his right to a speedy trial and is next scheduled to appear in court on April 29. At this time, prosecutors are still waiting for completed autopsies of Rob and Michele, leaving key details about the deaths unknown.
