NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection has just been announced. What awesome news! This legendary hack and slash action-adventure is getting a remaster. This remaster includes three remastered games: NINJA GAIDEN Sigma, NINJA GAIDEN Sigma 2, and NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge. These games make up the NG series of the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 generation. These games are infamous, difficult, lightning-fast, and very stylish. They are the Dark Souls of hack and slash games.
NINJA GAIDEN: The Super Collection We Need
Folks at Ninja Theory, the developer behind the games, today better known for titles such as Dead or Alive or Nioh, are stoked to bring these games to us on current platforms in one “master collection”. As the press release states:
“NINJA GAIDEN is one of the most important and monumental titles for the Team NINJA brand, but we haven’t been able to release the series title on current generation platforms, so I am very delighted to be able to release it in this format as a trilogy. If you enjoy challenging action games, we hope you will give it a try.”
If you’ve never played a GAIDEN title, here’s a possible reason for you to check it out:
“NINJA GAIDEN is the origin of Team NINJA’s action games, and I hope that not only fans of the series, but also fans of the Nioh series will play these games. I hope that the day will come soon when I can provide information about the next game in the NINJA GAIDEN series, which I’ve been continuously saying that I want to develop, but until then, please play as the ‘super ninja’ Ryu Hayabusa in the NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection.” Adds Fumihiko Yasuda, Head of Team NINJA.
To celebrate the news, there will be a downloadable skin in Nioh 2 called “Dragon Ninja” that transforms players into NINJA GAIDEN’s protagonist Ryu Hayabusa.
The long-time fans will probably go crazy while reading this. If you’ve never played a single game featured in the Master Collection or Nioh, perhaps you’ve played Dead or Alive recently? Well, this franchise and the Dead or Alive franchise actually share the same game universe, and important characters shop up in both games. So expect Kasumi and Ayane to pop up in this remaster. And you’ve probably already played as Ryu in Dead or Alive.
NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s coming on June 10, 2021, worldwide.
We know you’re excited. If you’re not, maybe check back for our review once the game drops.
