As the latest in the Advance Wars franchise has yet to release, many have been looking forward to returning to the classic tactical RPG. Starting on the Famicom Disk System and later Japan-exclusive Gameboy titles, the Wars series has a history at Nintendo. As the tactical franchise reigned supreme easily in the early 2000s, the title later lost its initial interest. Yet, when WayForward announced remakes of the first two Advance Wars titles as Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp. Fans were amped to see the return of a beloved forgotten franchise. Despite this, the global pandemics’ restraints on work have affected everyone and unfortunately, Nintendo is no exception. Announced today on Twitter was a statement informing fans of Nintendo’s Advance Wars 1+2 delay to Spring of 2022.

Hello, troops! #AdvanceWars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was set to launch on 12/3, will now release for #NintendoSwitch in spring 2022. The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning. You'll be battling with Andy & friends soon! Thanks for your patience. pic.twitter.com/dSi8VSsxTH

What Does A Delay Mean For Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp?

Originally set to launch this December, many were excited to see how the world of Advance Wars had changed and adapted to the modern era. Centered around a large military presence that pits players at the command of an army. Utilizing troops, tanks, ships, and planes; players conquest across the world with their team. Developed by Intelligent Systems, the title shares many similarities with the Fire Emblem franchise. Seeing how the titles are just remakes, there’s still plenty for Way-Forward to upgrade. Not only in terms of screen size and performance but also upgraded sound fidelity and character models. The remake also has the potential to return the franchise to wide appeal. As the title has already generated much interest, fans will wait to see if Nintendo is willing to return to the world of Advance Wars. Yet, it seems that fans will just have to wait a little while longer before Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp launches on Nintendo Switch Spring 2022.
