According to Comicbook, Animal Crossing players were surprised when they turned on their consoles this morning and saw that Nintendo released an Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and the Nintendo Switch OLED.
Patch 2.0.3
The following issues related to the paid DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise have been fixed:
- Fixed an issue where items could be duplicated through a specific method.
- Fixed an issue where the same character could appear twice on the island where Paradise Planning is located.
These issues are specific to paid DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise content.
Item duplicating was a major issue during the 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 versions of patch updates, allowing those who purchased the DLC to duplicate items. Here’s hoping you got your duplicating in before the update. Nintendo did not state how to go about duplicating items, they just mentioned that there were specific methods to go about doing so.
This Nintendo surprise patch is not the rumored patch that was leaked yesterday by Samus Hunter on Twitter, that update is slated to come near Christmas, which will supposedly bring back the Holiday Festivities. If true, this will be the final patch that Nintendo releases after they had confirmed, earlier this month, that they will no longer be offering support for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Sad news for devotees of the popular franchise.
The Animal Crossing franchise has been going strong for about 20 years with the first incarnation coming in 2001, in Japan for the Nintendo 64. The more recent games have been coming out roughly 3-5 years apart, so you could expect a new Animal Crossing on the horizon around 2024. Or not, this is all just speculation after all.
