If you loved working out on your Wii with Wii Fit, you might be in luck. Nintendo tweeted out a video teasing a new workout device for the Nintendo Switch with a full reveal on September 12th.
The video, which is about a minute and a half long, highlights this new, unnamed device. The circular device is flexible; people in the video are stretching the equipment out. A leg strap looks to be a part of the kit as well. You will slide one Joy-Con into each device. Multiple active movements are shown throughout the trailer, which has lead many people believing this is a workout device of sorts, similar to the Wii Fit board from all those years ago.

The video also shows off a handful of cities, such as Paris, France and Madrid, Spain. It’s not known if this means the “game” will feature these cities, or if it means this game will have worldwide appeal, but we don’t have too much longer to find out.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo has created a workout device for their console. The aforementioned Wii Fit board launched with the game and focused on making players get a healthy lifestyle through simple workouts and yoga. Nintendo also tried experimenting with a heart rate sensor called the Wii Vitality Sensor. First introduced in 2009, the project was finally canceled in 2013 and has since become a long-running joke in the Nintendo community.
The Switch has, so far, been the host of a handful of wacky peripherals as well. Nintendo Labo kits are a variety of cardboard boxes that the player builds before implementing them into a mini-game. Nintendo has already launched a robot kit, a driving kit, and a VR-focused kit.
What do you think of this new workout device? Do you think it’ll be a hit like Wii Fit? Or do you think it’ll be more like the Wii Vitality Sensor? Let us know in the comments below.
