Only a Karen would insert themselves into your gathering, uninvited, and make demands, especially in a space that’s public. Because if you’re having fun and not bothering anyone, a Karen is certainly lurking in the shadows, waiting to bark. This time it was in LA, California, on the strip of Dockweiler Beach, where a small gathering of people were enjoying the cheery sounds of a norteño band.
The sounds of people enjoying themselves may have triggered her. She stormed over to the gathering, shouting after them, though most of her words were incoherent. Her Karen rage could not overpower the norteño band’s music.
It was only until the music settled down that you could hear Karenzilla assert, after ripping off her designer sunglasses, “This is my beach, and I don’t want any music!”
In a show of strength, solidarity, and absolutely perfect timing, the Mariachi band did not back down, but continued their song. Knowing her bluff was called, the Karen stomped away like a petulant child, with the norteño band in tow.
This is truly the perfect response to killjoys like that person. Ignore them and keep having fun, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone. This is Dockweiler Beach, which is nearly 3 miles in length, so if the music is really that disruptive, then why not move further down? There’s plenty of room for everyone. Better yet, take the time to enjoy the music and another culture!
“Happiest music on earth. This is her response,” a Reddit user said in response to the video.
Another hoped the norteño band followed her to the car and kept playing, while another expanded on the fantasy, “Rumour has it that they played at her funeral.”
One Reddit comment said succinctly, “Life as a functional adult means functioning like an adult rather than acting like a child. Accept that you can’t control the universe instead of screaming at it and expecting it to change.”
At the end of the day, the Karen chose to disrupt the band, which is ironic considering it was live music.
