A dramatic incident occurred recently in North Carolina, when a Black man warned a White driver of a dangerous sinkhole in the road ahead, but the driver rudely flipped him off, ignored his advice, and drove straight into said sinkhole. Talk about instant karma, right?
The video comes by way of Atlanta Black Star, and takes place in Greenville, North Carolina. At the beginning of the footage, we see a brief snippet of what occurs after the accident has occurred. The White driver, sporting sunglasses, a blue t-shirt, and khaki shorts can be seen wandering towards the cameraman and can be heard exclaiming, “I don’t want to be rude or anything else, but when a fella of your color jumps out in front of me and starts waving at my truck–” though the rest of what he says is cut off, as the remaining footage reveals what happened. Accompanying the video is the caption, “A Black Man tried to save a White Man about the dangerous road ahead, the White Man gave him the middle finger and then something terrible happened. He then says he didn’t stop because of the Black Man’s color.“
Now, at the start of the incident, you can hear a person recording stating, “Yo, this sh*t is crazy, yo! There’s water about to come from everywhere.” as they point their camera’s gaze at a fractured, damaged road. As a black SUV drives past, the person recording states, “Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh!” while another person says, “I’m trying to stop you boss-man.” While it’s not shown on camera, the White man driving the vehicle allegedly gives the Black couple the middle finger.
The SUV vehicle then drives straight into the sinkhole that the Black couple were warning the driver about, and his left tyre sinks down into the road. “Oh! Get out! Oh! I just telled him to not go in there! My God! I just told him to not go in there! I tried to stop him. I tried to stop him. Boss-man get out of there! Get out of there! Hey, boss-man, get out of there! Oh my f*cking God. I just tried to stop him.” yells the Black man, trying to help. Water starts to gush out of the sinkhole that’s forming beneath the vehicle’s right tyre.
The footage then circles back to the clip at the beginning, but shows a little bit more context, with the Black man explaining to the White driver, “Yeah, I was trying to save — we rolled by and it was sinking and we had to put pressure on the gas just to get up. I’m not trying to figure out what happened. Like, wow.” Explaining further, the man continues, “Listen, I was trying to stop this man right here for going down the road. And he gave me the middle finger and look what happened. The man gave me a middle finger and look what the f*ck happened. The man gave me a middle finger y’all and look what the f*ck happened. I tried to stop him, and look what the f*ck happened.” The camera then shows the SUV vehicle stuck in a sinkhole, with water pouring out from the hole.

A Black man in Greensville, NC tried to do the right thing—he saw danger ahead and jumped out to warn a white driver about a massive sinkhole in the road.
But instead of slowing down, the driver flipped him off and kept going. Seconds later, his car plunged into the hole.
What he said afterward? Even worse.
“I don’t want to be rude or anything, but when a fella your color jumps out in front of me…”

With the clip circulating online, netizens took to the comments section to air their reaction to the dramatic video. One commenter on Instagram wrote, “He got what deserved. And stop calling people BOSS man that you don’t work for. Giving them power over you. You are equal to every man” while another chipped in, penning, “After he said “your color “ I don’t want to hear nothing you got to say!!!” A third simply added, “Too bad he didn’t sink the whole way“.
