Unfortunately, the tropical depression has affected many states in our country. While people in Texas are suffering the most, there are other communities that are dealing with floods of their own, such as Saxapahaw in North Carolina. With how bad the natural disasters have been lately, NC citizens are blaming Trump and Musk for planning to axe agencies that could respond to these situations, such as FEMA. It is shocking that, during times when we need these agencies to help us, the President is instead looking for ways to eliminate them.
A Redditor who goes by the name of yellowstepstool shared a video of how the floods have affected Saxapahaw, North Carolina. As you can see, the Haw River has started to flood the place, forcing a lot of people to abandon their homes.
In the clip, you can see the water levels rising, with no indication of them stopping any time soon. Furthermore, there are many buildings with a lot of water inside, and structures like bridges are already damaged by the flood.
As we all know, the US has several agencies that are in charge of helping during these situations. However, they won’t be around for long, as Trump and Musk looked for ways to freeze their funds and promised to eliminate them by the end of the year. With that in mind, many people have blamed the current administration for the lack of preparation and response during these situations.

“Trump and Musk teamed up to kill FEMA, NOAA, and most of the ways you’d find out about climate issues. Texans died because of them.” – IcanRead8647 via Reddit.
“Anyone noticed the climate and weather are being a little chaotic lately? Probably nothing. We should defund and dismantle every government agency that tracks these things, just to be sure.” – shakeappeal919 via Reddit.
Right now, the situation is dire for many states around the country, and the rains seem like they will continue. Since the agencies that used to help don’t have the same power anymore, we can only hope for those in North Carolina and across the country to stay safe during this time.
