A North Carolina fast food dispute is dividing TikTok after a customer accused restaurant workers of keeping both his money and his food. The employee who posted the confrontation says there’s one big problem with his story: he allegedly never paid in the first place.
Posted to TikTok by @foreverbymylonely7, the video opens during a heated argument between a customer and restaurant employees. As one worker appears to be on the phone with police, another begins recording the interaction. The customer objects, saying, “Don’t take a picture of me.”
While the North Carolina worker describes the customer’s appearance to the dispatcher, the man insists he also wants police to come because they “can get me my money back.” When that goes unanswered, the customer repeatedly asks for the company’s corporate phone number, accusing the employees of refusing to cooperate.
The customer then pulls out his own phone and begins recording, insisting he’s actually the one being wronged. “They have my money and they have my food,” he says while employees continue speaking with police. He repeatedly asks for the company’s corporate phone number as the confrontation continues.
The creator later offered her side of what happened. According to @foreverbymylonely7, the customer never completed his order and therefore never paid for the food. She questioned how employees could refund money the restaurant allegedly never received. The video itself doesn’t establish whether a payment was successfully processed, and the customer’s response to the creator’s explanation isn’t included.
North Carolina Fast Food Workers Take Sides
The comments quickly filled with fast food workers who sympathized with the employees, arguing customers often expect staff to have information they simply don’t have.
“It’s 2026 and people are still asking for corporate’s number as if you can’t Google everything you need to know about a company,” one commenter wrote.Another echoed the frustration, writing, “I hate when they ask for corporate number… we don’t keep it in our pocket.“
Others couldn’t understand how the disagreement escalated over a fast food order. “If going to McDonald’s makes you this angry… just don’t go?” one person commented. Another joked, “McDonald’s ain’t even that good to be doing all of that, I’m sorry.“
However, others felt the video lacked important context or believed the customer deserved the benefit of the doubt.
One commenter who identified themselves as a fast food manager wasn’t ready to blame the customer. “What’s the backstory here?” they asked, questioning why employees were recording him and what happened before the video started. “All I see is two employees kinda jus looking at a customer who wants the corporate number.”
Another user wrote, “Just give the man his money, they be playing too much in these fast food joints, why call the police for something so stupid.”
For all the arguing in the restaurant and in the comments, the entire dispute comes down to one detail the video never settles. The customer insists the restaurant had his money, while the employee says he never paid at all. Without a receipt or transaction record appearing in the footage, TikTok is left trying to decide which version adds up.
